Platoon Orbats for Falklands & AitUK projects

This is a breakdown of the platoon structures for the Falklands and my Anarchy in the UK projects, specifically for TFL’s Chain of Command.  I am not promising that these are 100% accurate, but I am fairly sure that they are correct.
The Argentine Army Commando is strictly a WAG (Wild A*$ Guess) based on the numbers that I have seen for number on men in a platoon and that there were two assault sections and one support section in the platoon. Also, I did not include various additional support weapons that I don’t have a fixed number on right now, like the M79 grenade launcher or the 66mm Antitank Rockets.  I plan to treat them as Support Points in CoC.  The more of those that you have in your platoon, then they are less likely to get SFGPMG’s or Milan support for an example.  If anyone has information to correct these, it will be greatly appreciated.

British Army Para Platoons / Royal Marines Troop

Platoon Headquarters
1x Lieutenant w/ SMG
1x Sergeant w/ SLR
1x Private w/ SLR and Radio
1x Private w/ SLR as a Runner
1x Private w/ SLR and one L9A1 mortar tube
1x Private w/ SLR and spare rounds for L9A1 mortar

3x Sections
1x Rifle Team
1x Corporal w/ SLR
3x Privates w/ SLR
1x LMG Team
1x Lance Corporal w/ SLR
2x Privates w/ SLR
1x Private w/ GPMG
(1x Carl Gustav Rifle to be assigned for the Royal Marines)

Notes: Treat as Elites for CoC, with some being Regulars.  Paras should also be treated as Aggressive troops.  Royal Marines were considered very Professional in pre-planning.  Once per Turn, the RM can change one die to be either a 3 or a 4.

British Army Guards/Gurkha Platoons

Platoon Headquarters
1x Lieutenant w/ SMG
1x Sergeant w/ SLR
1x Private w/ SLR and Radio
1x Private w/ SLR as a Runner
1x Private w/ SLR and one L9A1 mortar tube
1x Private w/ SLR and spare rounds for L9A1 mortar
1x Private w/ SLR for a driver
(1x APC if Mechanized)

3x Sections
1x Rifle Team
1x Corporal w/ SLR
4x Privates w/ SLR
1x Private w/ SLR for a driver if Mechanized

1x LMG Team
1x Lance Corporal w/ SLR
2x Privates w/ SLR
1x Private w/ GPMG
1x Carl Gustav Rifle to be assigned
(1x APC if Mechanized)

Notes: Treat as Regulars with some units been Green.  Gurkhas are Elite with some being Regulars and should also be classified as Aggressive.

Argentine Army & Marine Seccion Tiradores (Platoon)

HQ Equipos (Team)
            1x Lieutenant w/ SMG
            1x Sergeant w/ SLR
1x Private w/ SLR and Radio
            1x Private w/ SLR as a Runner

 3x Grupos Tiradores (Section)
1st Equipos (Team)
            1x Corporal w/ SLR
1x Private w/ SLR and Radio
            3x Privates w/ SLR
2nd Equipos (Team)
                            1x Corporal w/ SLR
                            1x Private w/ FM FAP
                            3x Privates w/ SLR

1x Grupos
1x Corporal w/ SLR
1x Private w/ SLR and Radio
6x Privates w/ SLR
2x Privates w/ FN MAG
3x M20 3.5” Super Bazookas to be assigned

Notes:  Should be treated as Green with some units being Regulars.  In rare cases, up to one team can be considered Diehards.

Argentine Army Commando Platoon

Platoon Headquarters
            Senior ranking officer w/ SMG

2x Assault Sections
5x Officers or NCOs w/ SLRs and SMGs

1x Support Section
3x Officers or NCOs w/ SLRs and SMG
            1x NCO w/ FM FAP

Notes:  The Army Commandoes were made up Argentine officers and NCOs only.  They should be treated as Regulars and some units being considered Aggressive.  Up to one section can be treated as Diehards.

Anarchy in the UK Local Defence Platoon

Platoon Headquarters
1x Lieutenant w/ rifles
1x Sergeant w/ rifles
1x Private w/ rifles as a Runner
+1d3 Privates w/ rifles

3x Sections
1x Rifle Team
1x Corporal w/ rifles
4x Privates w/ rifles
                        +1d3 Privates w/ rifles

Notes: All support weapons will be based off of the CoC Support Numbers.  The section is not broken down into teams, so like the Soviets for WWII, they can only be activated as a section.  The troops start off with bolt action rifles, but can be upgraded with Support points.  Treat mostly as Green troops with a small number being Regulars.

Anarchy in the UK Flying Columns

Platoon Headquarters
1x Lieutenant w/ SMG
1x Sergeant w/ rifles
1x Private w/ rifles as a Runner
1x Private w/ rifles for a driver

Nice info- especially like what you have come up with for the Anarchy in the UK milieu.

Are you going to have an option for the Paras and RM in Falklands to have an extra Bren L4A(?) per section? I've seen some references to them having up to 3 per platoon.

Cheers,

Pete.

Thanks, Pete!

You are partly correct. IIRC, two of the three RM Commandos had either just got back or were in route to their arctic training in Norway. Those units had the extra Bren in each section.

I am not sure about the RM Mountain & Arctic Warfare Cadre, but I am sure that they had the extra Bren as well.

2 Para had an extra GPMG per section because Lt Col H Jones "failed" to return their old ones for news prior deployment.

As for the others, I believe that they had just the one GPMG per section.

Thanks for the clarifications Joe, they certainly give those units more firepower than the Argentine forces when push comes to shove at the sharp end.

Cheers,

Pete.
